Bellabox December revealed

One word:

Happy!!

This months box was really good. as you can see below there is some great items in this months box, have already tried the Kora by Miranda Kerr and its excellent.

I love the slight contradiction of the mascara- "Its so Big" cause its so tiny but I'm sure I'll use it, would be great for the handbag.
If you like something and want to know more info just comment and I'll let you know.

C ya round,

Kim xoxo

Stocking Fillers- OPI style

Christmas is once again so close I can feel the stomach pains already from stuffing my face to the brink of no existance, does your family do what mine does and always over cater?
I'm sure this year will be no exception, can't wait :-) mmmm foood

The one truly annoying thing I do really struggle with is buying presents, who likes what this year? What colour should I get this in for whats-his-name? Crap they have run out of this for what's-her-name? Arrrrr

But I have a solution, the lovely people at Coty PR Australia sent me this lovely on trend colour selection of mini OPI nail polishes and are a fab stocking stuffer if I don't say so myself.

Every person (I say this cause I have seen a couple of blokes wearing nail polish now-a-days) would find at least a couple of colours they would like in this box set. From flaming reds to nudie pinks and a little bit of bling all bases are covered.
At under $40 they are great value and are available from Myer Australia online (www.myer.com.au) and in-store now.

I've already pumped out one mani using Big Apple Red and Alpine Snow creating a christmas mani to get me into the swing of things (who would have believed this is my first chrissy mani this year, WOW)
I call this an abstract christmas haha, the bling from another OPI favourite "lips are dripping honey" bling polish was much needed to lift this not so perfect mani  :-)
Oh and how cute are the small bottles? Love them, they make my hands look massive hehe.

Wonder what else I can create any suggestions?

Love Kim :-)

BellaBox November reveal/review

Love it when you here the door bell and it’s the mail man… Even better when he hands you that same shaped box you get every month. Bellabox is here!! Woop Woop. I think the mail man thinks I’m nuts but I do a little dance when he hands me it haha.

Anyway back to this month’s sample heaven. This month has a good mix of things actually, from eye makeup to nail polish.

As you can see from the pic below I got some different brands I’ve never heard of (I am a novice of makeup and beauty products so don’t sue me haha) so it was an interesting time playing around with them.

The product I liked the best this month would be…..
Surprisingly enough it isn’t the nail polish (not saying I didn’t hate it, but getting Kester Black polish in red last month and then getting another red polish this month wasn’t something I needed)

But I choose: The Coastal Scents eye shadow palette.

The colours are me shades and they appear to be very good quality so tick tick

So thats November done can't wait for December xoxox

Provocalips by Rimmel London

Seeing as I'm no makeup person and don't know my eye crayon from my eye liner trying out makeup can be a bit hit and miss for me.
Having sensitive skin has hindered a lot of my makeup exploration during my life like foundation is normally off my list and I only bring it out for super special occasions and never wear it to work so when CotyPRAustralia asked if I wanted to try these lipsticks (I'm hoping thats what the makeup peeps call these) I was slightly apprehensive as I thought that maybe someone else in the makeup industry would be more useful to try these out...
But I'm so glad I did, these are heaven.

Apart from having slightly sensitive skin I'm also not a morning person. My precious time in the morning is normally spent sleeping in that extra 10 minutes rather than slapping on makeup. I tend to do the "oh crap I'm in the car park at work and still haven't put on my only makeup, mascara and look like a dork peering into the rear vision mirror apply it hurriedly" person. (Please tell me I'm not the only that does this???)
So this week I hurriedly not only applied my staple mascara I hurriedly applied one of these gems. In under 2 minutes my face looked like I had made an effort for once. I didn't get looks of shock from anyone at work so I must have not looked that bad so big thumbs up Rimmel. haha
Application was easy- apply the colour, wait a minute without touching lips (this can seem a lifetime when you are rushed but trust me- wait-  other wise it goes all clumpy), then apply the top coat sealy thingy and done!! Sexy lips u have now got.
My favourite for my skin type was "dare to pink" and I will be using this for the rest of my life I think.
I hate reapplying even lipgloss so this no-budge lipstick is for me.
Lasted through 3-4 cups of tea, lunch (sandwich and drink), and also exercise. Taking it off can be tricky but I took it off with some cheap baby oil.
Thanks CotyPrAustralia for sending these to me, you have converted me to the makeup world :-)

Cheers,
Kim

August Nail art challenge... complete woohoo

August being my favourite month as its my birthday month so I didn't know if I was going to be able to complete the August @californials nail art challenge but it happened.

Woohoo "put your hands up in the air"

I had fun completing all of these and challenged my little grey cells coming up with a couple of them but I loved all of them.

My top favourite was actually all of my lovely followers on IG's favourite.
My leopard print french tips.
I used W7 (from chemist warehouse) pistachio and fingr's viper nail stickers. This was so easy to create shhh dont tell anyone :-)
All you do is cut up the nail stickers into strips and once your base colour is dry apply the stickers where you want them and file down the excess. Hey presto pretty nails.
The hardest part was getting them all the same length.

 What was your favourite creation?

Fingr's was so impressed by my creation they sent me a package of all their other products to sample, how nice of them. There is so many things its making my brain hurt just thinking about which thing to start with haha, what a problem hey.

Any suggestions on what I should use first?

Now to start on September nail art challenge... wish me luck haha

back at ya,

Kim

Sprinkles, sprinkles everywhere- Chi Chi polish pack

Who doesn't love sprinkles right?

I've never really come across an all-out-open sprinkle hater I'm sure there is but for my imagination purposes there can't be really only dietary issue peeps.
Those little sugar high making, little rays of sunshine in a normal everyday world of dull grey are just what the doctor ordered right?....

Sooo when I saw this pack of 8 sprinkleishous (yes I just made up my own word there haha) Chi Chi nail polishes coming out I knew one day I would have to own these pretties.

And finally I trudged all the way to Myers and got my hot sweaty paws on to them. Yippee!

I'm not normally a Myer person so this trip really was only to find nail polish treasures and of course that's what happened :-).
These might also be available in Target Australia also or Chi Chi's online store: www.chichicosmetics.com

Anyway back to the polishes, the Chi Chi Bubblegum Pop Confetti  pack looks a little like this:
And for the full retail price of $19.95 u get 8 different polka dot heaven nail polishes.

They don't have individual names but I can live with that, I think I may just make up my own names for each one for my swatching sticks, any ideas?

The formula for these isn't that bad actually, they are a tad smelly but once on and dry they don't smell so just don't go sniffin the bottles alright :-)

I did find the purple polishes dots didn't want to come out to play but some did so better some than none.
The overall polish with the dots isn't gluggy which u sometimes get with glitter polishes, it is very manageable.

To achieve full opaque polish u do sometimes need 3 coats but 2 might be alright depending on ur coat thickness, I needed 3 cause I do thin coats.

Swatching took me a while but here they all are, I used my cinderella hand with slightly nubbish short nails but decided they looked more truer that way...

What do u think?

Closer pics will be on my instagram pics so check us out at @kjpnaildesigns

Till next time have a great one

Nicole by Opi- Blue-Berry sweet on you

During my boring weekly grocery shopping trip last night at Woolworths (big grocery shopping chain here in Australia) the trolley just happened to "accidentally
I swear it did it all by itself, pinky swear! :-)
" turn into the makeup section...
Anyway in that wonderful isle there just happens to be a Nicole by Opi stand and to get me through the boredom of shopping for groceries I decided that I would treat myself to 1 bottle.
Boy its hard to choose just 1 bottle but I think I made the best choice in the end. Blue- Berry sweet on you, from the gumdrops range.
At $12.95 a bottle and me being a cheapskate this is at the higher end of my budget so the polish needs to hit all the right notes....
And it does. I only got around to swatching 1 finger as I still had to make dinner for a couple of nights and unpack the 4,000 bags of shopping but from just that one finger swatch I'm in love.
Well not boyfriend/ husband love but you know fellow nail polish addicts the feeling u get when u find a really good nail polish.
I put on my favourite revlon quick dry base coat and put 2 coats of this baby and waited for it to dry.
It does say to not put a top coat on so when it took 45 mins to dry I did nearly crack out the quick dry top coat.
Me being impatient didn't help but I decided to stick it out just so I could fully see this beauty for what it is, I'm very glad I did cause man its really good.
The fact that its textured is what attracted me at first so I knew what I was getting into, but the texture is actually only subtle and I think it shouldn't annoy me too much. Score.
The sparkle, despite the no top coat is great, reminds me of a gemstone rock just cut from a mine or something like that. There is subtle glints of purple and blue which you can see on the macro shot.

Fingers crossed it lasts and doesn't chip, being only 1 day old it hasn't had a chance to show endurance yet but here's hoping.

Will have to invest in the rest of the gumdrop range I reccons :-)

If you have the other colours in the range let me know, would love to hear what the others are like.

Nail art July collage

Who doesn't love a challenge right?

During july on instagram I participated in a nail art challenge that was created by @californails its a really great fun.

Here is an explaination of how it works:

At the start of the month @californials releases a list of words with corresponding dates which you need to create nail art for over the month.

Sometimes working out what the word is can be the challenge haha. I've actually learnt a few things by just googling the word.

July was one of the first months were I did everyday, very proud of myself :)
(See pic below)

August is already underway and (shhh don't tell anyone but) I spent a good part of last weekend getting ahead and maybe doing a couple of the nail art challenges in a row. Whoops hehe.
This month I'm going to be a little busy seeing as its my birthday month so I thought I'd get a couple under my belt :)

If ur on instagram check out the hashtag #nailartaug to see all the current nailart participants there is sooo many excellent nailart creators.

Welcome to my new nail polish blog

So this is my first blog for my nail polish addiction,  don't they say that in order to get over an addiction u have to first admit that you have a problem so here goes:
" I Kimberley have an addiction to nail polish"
There I said it!  Wow that feels better already :-)
But in order to help the "healing" process I think I just might have to share more of my addict to the outside world so you/they see why I love it so much or just to suck someone else into the world of nail polish.. cue evil laugh...
Now that I've covered my reason for this blog I might just share with you some info about myself.
My name is Kimberley and I live in Melbourne, Australia and am turning 30 in a months time.
I'm currently exercising my butt so I can look super sexy haha, which has eaten into my nail polish addiction time but ehhh what ya gonna do.
My current exercise schedule is dancing which is actually great fun I do zumba, jazz, latin and a few other things so its varied and fun.
Right what else to talk about.... hmmm
Well I do/did have a slight obsession with polymer clay and hair accessories,  making them I mean.
I see myself as a crafty person.
Seeing as I am privileged enough to have my own craft room that is stocked to the rafters with all types of crafting supplies,  you name it I probably have it haha.
What else to inform u of.... hmmm
I do love food that is why I have the chubby body but I've worked out my equilibrium with this love and just don't overindulge any more I still have the odd sneaky tim tam :-)
I have about 300 or so nail polishes I don't really want to count how many as reality will probably set in then but one day I will and I'll let u know :-)
Don't want to bore u any longer so please check back for more updates in the adventures of KJP Nail Designs
