Sprinkles, sprinkles everywhere- Chi Chi polish pack

Who doesn't love sprinkles right?

I've never really come across an all-out-open sprinkle hater I'm sure there is but for my imagination purposes there can't be really only dietary issue peeps.
Those little sugar high making, little rays of sunshine in a normal everyday world of dull grey are just what the doctor ordered right?....

Sooo when I saw this pack of 8 sprinkleishous (yes I just made up my own word there haha) Chi Chi nail polishes coming out I knew one day I would have to own these pretties.

And finally I trudged all the way to Myers and got my hot sweaty paws on to them. Yippee!

I'm not normally a Myer person so this trip really was only to find nail polish treasures and of course that's what happened :-).
These might also be available in Target Australia also or Chi Chi's online store: www.chichicosmetics.com

Anyway back to the polishes, the Chi Chi Bubblegum Pop Confetti  pack looks a little like this:
And for the full retail price of $19.95 u get 8 different polka dot heaven nail polishes.

They don't have individual names but I can live with that, I think I may just make up my own names for each one for my swatching sticks, any ideas?

The formula for these isn't that bad actually, they are a tad smelly but once on and dry they don't smell so just don't go sniffin the bottles alright :-)

I did find the purple polishes dots didn't want to come out to play but some did so better some than none.
The overall polish with the dots isn't gluggy which u sometimes get with glitter polishes, it is very manageable.

To achieve full opaque polish u do sometimes need 3 coats but 2 might be alright depending on ur coat thickness, I needed 3 cause I do thin coats.

Swatching took me a while but here they all are, I used my cinderella hand with slightly nubbish short nails but decided they looked more truer that way...

What do u think?

Closer pics will be on my instagram pics so check us out at @kjpnaildesigns

Till next time have a great one

Nicole by Opi- Blue-Berry sweet on you

During my boring weekly grocery shopping trip last night at Woolworths (big grocery shopping chain here in Australia) the trolley just happened to "accidentally
I swear it did it all by itself, pinky swear! :-)
" turn into the makeup section...
Anyway in that wonderful isle there just happens to be a Nicole by Opi stand and to get me through the boredom of shopping for groceries I decided that I would treat myself to 1 bottle.
Boy its hard to choose just 1 bottle but I think I made the best choice in the end. Blue- Berry sweet on you, from the gumdrops range.
At $12.95 a bottle and me being a cheapskate this is at the higher end of my budget so the polish needs to hit all the right notes....
And it does. I only got around to swatching 1 finger as I still had to make dinner for a couple of nights and unpack the 4,000 bags of shopping but from just that one finger swatch I'm in love.
Well not boyfriend/ husband love but you know fellow nail polish addicts the feeling u get when u find a really good nail polish.
I put on my favourite revlon quick dry base coat and put 2 coats of this baby and waited for it to dry.
It does say to not put a top coat on so when it took 45 mins to dry I did nearly crack out the quick dry top coat.
Me being impatient didn't help but I decided to stick it out just so I could fully see this beauty for what it is, I'm very glad I did cause man its really good.
The fact that its textured is what attracted me at first so I knew what I was getting into, but the texture is actually only subtle and I think it shouldn't annoy me too much. Score.
The sparkle, despite the no top coat is great, reminds me of a gemstone rock just cut from a mine or something like that. There is subtle glints of purple and blue which you can see on the macro shot.

Fingers crossed it lasts and doesn't chip, being only 1 day old it hasn't had a chance to show endurance yet but here's hoping.

Will have to invest in the rest of the gumdrop range I reccons :-)

If you have the other colours in the range let me know, would love to hear what the others are like.

Nail art July collage

Who doesn't love a challenge right?

During july on instagram I participated in a nail art challenge that was created by @californails its a really great fun.

Here is an explaination of how it works:

At the start of the month @californials releases a list of words with corresponding dates which you need to create nail art for over the month.

Sometimes working out what the word is can be the challenge haha. I've actually learnt a few things by just googling the word.

July was one of the first months were I did everyday, very proud of myself :)
(See pic below)

August is already underway and (shhh don't tell anyone but) I spent a good part of last weekend getting ahead and maybe doing a couple of the nail art challenges in a row. Whoops hehe.
This month I'm going to be a little busy seeing as its my birthday month so I thought I'd get a couple under my belt :)

If ur on instagram check out the hashtag #nailartaug to see all the current nailart participants there is sooo many excellent nailart creators.
